Welcome to the Tavern Quests operated by Black Dragon Tavern (“The Tavern,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Quest & Adventurers’ Guild Terms (“Terms”) govern your participation in any Tavern Quest, whether self‑funded or sponsored.

By participating in any Tavern Quest, you agree to be bound by these Quest & Adventurers’ Guild Terms.

If you do not agree, do not participate.

 

1. Who May Enter (The Realm’s Borders)

1.1 Eligibility. Unless a specific Quest announcement (“Quest Proclamation”) states otherwise, Tavern Quests are open only to:

 

  • Legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia
  • Who are 18 years of age or older (or the age of majority in their state of residence, if higher)

 

1.2 Exclusions. The following are not eligible:

 

  • Employees, contractors, officers, and directors of [Your Brand / LLC Name]
  • Immediate family members (spouse, parents, siblings, children) and household members of the above

 

1.3 Territorial limitations. Unless a Quest Proclamation explicitly states otherwise, only U.S. residents with a valid U.S. mailing address may claim rewards. Quests are void where prohibited by law.

 

2. No Purchase Necessary

2.1 No purchase required. No purchase, payment, or other fee is required to enter or win any Tavern Quest. A purchase will not increase your chances of receiving a reward.

2.2 Alternate methods. If any required action for a specific Quest is not permitted under applicable law in your jurisdiction, we may provide an alternate method of entry on the Quest page or in the Quest Proclamation.

 

3. How a Tavern Quest Works

3.1 Quest Proclamation. For each Quest, we issue a Proclamation (usually in a short-form video and/or accompanying description) that sets out:

 

  • The name or theme of the Quest

  • The clue, riddle, or task

  • The Quest period (when entries open and close)

  • Any special rules or reward details for that Quest

 

3.2 The Hunt. Each Quest requires you to locate information hidden somewhere in our existing “Tavern Lore” stories (our archive of videos/content). The answer will always be obtainable without purchase.

3.3 The Quest Scroll (Entry Form). To submit an entry, you must complete the Quest entry form (the “Quest Scroll”) linked in the Quest Proclamation or on our website. Unless otherwise stated, each Scroll will ask for:

 

  • Your Quest Answer (text)

  • The URL/link to the specific Tavern Lore video where you found the information

  • Required proof screenshot(s) as described below

  • Your email address (for winner contact)

  • Optional newsletter opt-in

  • Your confirmation that you agree to these Terms

 

3.4 The Three Seals (Proof Requirements). Some quest may require the following:

 

  1. Seal of Fealty – A screenshot clearly showing that you follow/subscribe to the Tavern account on the platform where the Quest was posted.
  2. Seal of Witness – A screenshot of your comment posted under the Quest post itself (the Quest video/reel/short), with your handle visible.
  3. Seal of Lore – A screenshot from the Tavern Lore archive video where you found the answer, showing:

    • The video title

    • The relevant moment or information

    • The visible timestamp, if applicable

    • The video URL (also entered in the form)

Incomplete Scrolls (missing any Seals or required fields) may be deemed invalid and not considered.

3.5 One entry per Adventurer per Quest. Unless expressly stated otherwise, you may submit only one entry per person per Quest. Multiple entries, automated entries, or entries via bots or scripts may result in disqualification at our discretion.

 

4. Rewards (The Tavern’s Boons)

4.1 Reward range. For most Quests, the first valid Adventurer to successfully complete the Quest may receive a reward (the “Reward”). Unless a Quest Proclamation states otherwise:

 

  • The Reward will have an Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) of no less than $1.00 USD and no more than $20.00 USD.

  • The specific item (e.g., “2 Coin” pouch, token, small prize, sponsor-provided item) may vary by Quest and is determined by the Tavern Keeper in their sole discretion.

 

4.2 No guarantee of reward. A Quest may end without a reward being issued if:

 

  • No valid entries are received, or

  • All apparent entries fail verification, or

  • The Quest is cancelled or modified for legal, technical, or integrity reasons.

 

4.3 Reward nature. Rewards are:

 

  • Non-transferable

  • Not redeemable for cash (unless required by law)

  • Non-substitutable, except that we may substitute a reward of equal or greater value if the originally intended reward is unavailable.

 

4.4 Taxes. You are solely responsible for any and all taxes associated with a Reward. If your cumulative Rewards from us in a calendar year reach or exceed $600, we may require a completed Form W‑9 and issue an IRS Form 1099-MISC.

 

5. Odds & Selection of Victor

5.1 Odds. Odds of receiving a Reward depend on the number and timeliness of valid entries received for that Quest.

5.2 Selection. Unless a specific Quest Proclamation uses a different method:

 

  • The first valid, complete entry received after the Quest start time, as timestamped by the Quest Scroll system, will be designated the Victor (potential winner).

  • If the first entry is invalid or ineligible, we will move to the next valid entry in chronological order.

 

5.3 Verification. All potential Victors are subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with these Terms. We may request additional information or documentation to verify identity, eligibility, and proof.

 

6. Winner Notification & Prize Claim

6.1 Notification. We will contact the apparent Victor via the email address and/or platform handle provided on the Quest Scroll within a reasonable period (typically within 5 business days) after the Quest concludes.

6.2 Response deadline. The apparent Victor must respond within 72 hours (or other period specified in the notification). Failure to respond in time may result in forfeiture and selection of an alternate Victor.

6.3 Prize Claim Form. For certain Rewards, including physical items, we may ask the Victor to complete a Prize Claim form and/or an Affidavit of Eligibility and Release. These may require:

 

  • Full legal name

  • U.S. mailing address

  • Confirmation of eligibility

  • Agreement to these Terms

 

6.4 Shipping & risk. Physical Rewards will typically be shipped via standard mail or a carrier chosen by us. Once a Reward is handed to the carrier, risk of loss transfers to the recipient. We are not responsible for lost, delayed, misdelivered, or damaged shipments.

 

7. Conduct & Disqualification

We may, in our sole discretion, disqualify any entry or participant who:

 

  • Fails to comply with these Terms or any Quest Proclamation

  • Submits false, misleading, or incomplete information

  • Uses multiple accounts, bots, automation, or deceptive methods

  • Harasses, threatens, or abuses other participants or the Tavern staff

  • Attempts to undermine the legitimate operation or fairness of a Quest

 

Repeated or egregious violations may result in a ban from future Quests.

 

8. Data & Privacy

8.1 What we collect. Through the Quest Scroll and Prize Claim forms, we may collect:

 

  • Name and contact information (e.g., email address)

  • Platform handles

  • Screenshots and links you upload

  • For Victors only: mailing address and any necessary tax information

 

8.2 How we use it.

 

  • To operate and administer the Quest(s)

  • To verify eligibility and compliance

  • To contact Victors and ship Rewards

  • If you opt in: to send the Adventurers’ Bulletin (newsletter) and related communications

 

8.3 Data retention and deletion.

 

  • Non-winning entries: kept only as long as reasonably necessary to administer the Quest and for recordkeeping, then deleted or anonymized.

  • Winner shipping addresses: used solely for delivery of Rewards and deleted within 30 days after confirmation of delivery, except where a longer period is required by law or legitimate recordkeeping.

  • Tax-related records may be retained as required by applicable law.

 

8.4 No sale of personal data. We do not sell your personal information. For more detail, see our Privacy Policy.

 

9. Intellectual Property & Content You Submit

9.1 Our content. All Tavern stories, visuals, and Quest materials are owned by us or our licensors and protected by applicable copyright and other laws. You may not reproduce or exploit them beyond what is necessary for participating in a Quest and personal, non-commercial viewing.

9.2 Your content. By submitting any content (including screenshots, answers, comments) as part of a Quest, you represent that you have the right to do so and that such content does not infringe third-party rights.

9.3 Limited license. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use your submitted content for the limited purposes of:

 

  • Administering and verifying the Quest

  • Showcasing or discussing the Quest (e.g., winner announcements, behind-the-scenes explanations)

 

We will not sell your content or use it in unrelated advertising without additional permission.

 

10. Limitation of Liability; Release

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

10.1 No responsibility for errors. We are not responsible for:

 

  • Technical errors, failures, interruptions, or delays (networks, platforms, hardware, software)

  • Lost, late, misdirected, damaged, incomplete, or illegible entries or communications

  • Unauthorized access to or alteration of entries

  • Any issues caused by platforms (e.g., YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat)

 

10.2 Release. By participating, you agree to release and hold harmless:

 

    • Black Dragon Tavern, its owners, officers, employees, contractors, and agents

    • Any Quest sponsors or prize providers

    • The social platforms on which Quests are promoted or hosted

from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses arising out of or related to your participation in a Quest or acceptance/use/misuse of any Reward.

 

10.3 No warranties. Rewards are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, except where such warranties cannot be disclaimed as a matter of law.

 

11. Governing Law & Disputes

11.1 Governing law. These Terms and any disputes arising from or relating to a Quest are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.

11.2 Venue. You agree to bring any disputes exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California and consent to their personal jurisdiction.

11.3 No class actions. You agree that any claims will be brought in your individual capacity only, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective, or representative proceeding.

 

12. Platform Disclaimers

Tavern Quests may be advertised, run, or referenced on third-party platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat.

Quests are in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with these platforms.

You agree to release such platforms from any and all liability arising out of or related to any Quest.

 

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update, modify, or replace these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. The version in effect at the time you participate in a Quest will govern that Quest, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

We may also publish short-form Quest rules in Proclamations or posts. In the event of a direct conflict, the specific Quest Proclamation controls that Quest; otherwise, these Terms govern.
